Somaliland refused unity but it was agreed any aid directed to the former Somali republic will be shared + plus security cooperation
and military training given by outsiders.

In three months time there will be another meeting in Istanbul this time.

In other words the federal government got what they wanted.
Points 4 & 5 is whats in place for other regions already.

In layman's term, you were made equal to Punt/juba/ximan etc (even though you were to begin with).

Not really. If anything this empowers Somaliland further while still not giving up their sovereignty or being part of Somalia. The military training programs
and aid that belongs to former British Somaliland will be used to tame nijaas Jabertis nabad-diids.


It will be shared as Somalia and Somaliland, nothing compared to Puntland.

Its a good start lets see how the next talks go in 90s days go sharing aid is a good start and security cooperation. i think Siilaanyo and Culusow had a good talk about how to go from here.

Somaliland still says no to any Unity with Somalia, and is determined to exist as an independent state.

The writing on the wall is very clear.

Wallee waa cajiib, wax lagu faano miyaa, is this a victory, share a pie with what you purport to be another country, cooperate with their security forces as it continues to view you as its region.

Why take another 3 months as well, this could have been done since September. This is exactly what I predicted, a weak agreement will be viewed as progress. This simply has unionist undertones.

Somaliland and #Somalia sign Seven-point agreement called 'Ankara agreement' in #Turkey:-
1-Expressed commitment to continue dialogue between Somaliland and Somalia
2-Endorsed previous declarations in UK & UAE
3-Dialogue btw Somali govt and Govt of Somaliland.
4-Agreed to encourage and facilitate international aid & development to Somailand
5-Agreed the need to consolidate a coop.on security thru sharing intel, training & scholarships(military training) in fight against terror/piracy illegal fish.
6-Proposed to meet within 90 days in Istanbul; date TBA
7-Agreed to refrain from using inflammatory language & act that may risk dialogue

This is the final nail in the coffin for nabad-diids in the east or anyone else who would have dreamed to challenge us . Somaliland already have the largest and the strongest army in the region and soon we will be importing heavy weaponry under this agreement and the one that would further clarify the terms within two month.
Meanwhile, we have accelerated oil, gas and mineral explorations in our land and I am confident that within a year and half there will be a breakthrough. If results turn out to be as we hope and eventually we become an oil producing country then who would need to talk to anybody. I can not be more happier today because our strategies are coming together while our enemies are made busy on useless and trivial things

I have question for somalilanders, when will hargeisa and muqdisho have strong diplomatic ties where our president can visit your president in hargeisa? That would be historic visit indeed and would solidify good relations b/ Somalia & SL.
