H. E. Faroole on Turkey naive adventurism

Post by Transformer »

His excellence Faroole is not the only whistle blower. A report published in October 2012 by the Brussels-based International Crisis Group (ICG) claims that many countries consider Turkey’s role in Somalia to be naive adventurism. The ICG also suggests that Turkey’s approach has been too unilateral and has duplicated other, ongoing efforts to improve the situation. The report also critiques Turkey’s efforts as too focused on Mogadishu and claims that the Turkish contingent has been manipulated by Somali politicians. It also notes that Turkey’s officials have been too close to Somali officials, in particular those from the dominant clan in Mogadishu namely former President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and others, who are widely accused of corruption.

Those hating on Faroole for speaking the obvious :umad:

Faroole is just doing his job and putting folks in Mogadishu in check, folks busy lying and cheating and manipulating humanity so they can claim for themselves the given to Somalia :whoa:

faroole reminds me of a little kid throwing his toys around.

firstly, any outside interest in somalia is self serving to begin with but to be honest the us and uk are pissed that turkey has more influence over somalia than they do. the lesser of the two evils is allowing exploitation at the hands of the turks. any movement to discredit turkey without highlighting alternative solutions is weak and has the wests fingerprints all over it.

Turkey is shooting itself in the foot, the new scramble for Africa is well underway and they've already alienated a third of Somalia. I'm sure China appreciates the vacuum they've left. :whew:

I disagree.....Turkey`s bold initiative has forced the hand of the other interested countries.
Before the Turks arrived all there was were fly in fly out NGOs...now they have to move to MOG.

PS Faroole is one of the most corrupt politicians in Somalia

The Turks had sent a delegation to Puntland 6 months ago. farole failed to protect them when they travelled outside of Nugaal to Mudug.

farole isn't being taken seriously because he never had his own house in order. He need not look any further them himself for the alienation that he has subjected Puntland to.

He can complain about the Turks all he wants, but he welcomed them back in October of last year and left them with a terrible first impression.

This is farole's version of events:
