Somalia's government isn't independent, and doesn't control anything whatsoever. They depend on foreign forces for their own safety and security.

Excellent news !!! No more fly over codes being relayed to Seychelles or Nairobi. It sucked talking to a Kenyan or Seychellois ATC upon entering Somali airspace.

I heard that the total somali air space was giving to the mog goverment.
Including SL 'air space'. How is this possible ? this outright undermines SL ?

Civil Aviation generally comes under the jurisdiction of a federal government. Even if the Somali government was trying to avoid stepping on SL's toes, it just wouldn't work that way.

But antennas and equipment capable of determining the path for flights and administering emergency procedures is needed ALL over the country to generate an alright amount of revenue.

Good job
Next step focus on Somalia's maritime border and fend off the Kenyans and other foreign entities trying to loot our natural resources.

Somaliland’s minister of Civil Avaition, Mohamud Hashi Abdi has until further noticed banned all United Nations flights from Somaliland’s air-space and airports.

The move comes after the UN Agency ICAO apparently transferred jurisdiction of all Somaliland airports and air-space to the provisional administration in Mogadishu.

In a stunning development, the minister has order that all current UN planes remain in Somaliland airports until further notice and all future incoming flights from UN charters or UN planes be postponed indefinitely.

Loool@this amateur Geel Jire thinking like he can have a say about Somalia's airspace, even if the ban worked how the hell are they goin to manage with out the UN's multitude of hand outs and what not?..Diyaradaha UNtu Hawada Somaliland ma soo gali karaan kuyeh loolz..Waar inaar Lax was kasta marka la ina yidhaa waa Minster walaahi waa aakhir saman

Were is that B&W dude claiming Cilmooge was ineffective.

Cilmooge is doing wonders in Xamar.

1-re-establishing somali postal service-check
2-working on getting somali airlines back in the air-check
3-helping to regain control over somali airspace-check

While that interior minister still has not solved the sh/hoose issue and the hundreds of isbaaros their!

Somalia doesn't even have any trained Air Traffic Controllers, so where are we gonna employ them? Turkey?
