Muslims Are Not SERIOUSLY Committed To Islam
Assalamu Alaikum,
Shaykh Saalih ibn Fawzaan al-Fawzaan said:
“It is not something light on us that the Muslims are being killed and exiled, but it is not true concern for the situation of the Muslims that we force ourselves to shed tears insincerely, or that we fill the world with speeches and writings, screaming and wailing - for verily this does not accomplish a thing.
Finding the real solution to the Muslims' problems requires us to seek out the reasons that have led to the punishments afflicting the Muslims at the hands of their enemies.
What is causing the enemies of the Muslims to gain and hold authority over them?
When we look to the Muslim world, we do not see any serious commitment to Islaam with most of those who ascribe to it, except the few that Allaah has had Mercy on. What we see are Muslims by name only, the 'aqeedah of most of them is lost. They worship other than Allaah, calling on saints and righteous people, clinging to graves and tombs, not establishing the prayer, not paying Zakaah, not fasting, etc. They are not fulfilling the basic obligations Allaah asked of them; they are not even gathering their strength or preparing physically to fight the disbelievers! This is the case with the majority of those who ascribe themselves to Islaam – they have lost their religion, so Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, caused them to be lost...â€Â

Little Sister
There is an extremely dangerous aspect to your line of thought. Consider this:
1. If, in fact, Muslims lack committment, and that is the reasons for socio-economic problems in the Islamic world today, then the argued solution is greater committment by Muslims to Islam.
2. If Muslims manage to increase their committment, but their situation doesn't improve, they begin to look for more Islamic explanations.
It is a ceaseless spiral. You find yourself constantly doing two things:
1. Seeking scapegoats for your own social and economic difficulties, refusing to come to terms with your own shortfalls.
2. Constantly increasing the conservative nature of your own society and constantly trying to force an ever greater "Islamic committment" upon your subject populations.
This application of force (which is inevitable in the quest for social perfection) creates bitter resentment and the development of all kinds of nefarious underground activity.

Mad Mac, what are you tryna imply, that the problems we are facing is our fault alone.... So all the suffering and pain caused to muslims around the world was done by muslims....? you are comparing little things with reality here.. what i mean by that i, if i make mistake and i suffer becoz of it, then yes i am to blame and shouldnt use others as my scape goat...
BUT im am sleeping calmly in my house then all of a sudden i am attacked, my family killed, my house destroyed,... U get the picture here right, then how can U say to me, accept it becos
"Seeking scapegoats for your own social and economic difficulties, refusing to come to terms with your own shortfalls. "
How can we Accept what the Israelis, americans, british, and all the other countries who brought suffereing to muslims world wide....WHEN it had NOTHNG to do with us.....

Mizz
Come on now. No country and no people live in a vacume. Lots of countries have suffered lots of transgressions and moved past them. Look at South Korea. Suffered EASILY the most brutal form of colonial experience ever visited on any state. Then, as soon as that ended, suffered a bitter communist invasion and a brutal three year conflict. Yet today, it has a bustling economy, steady political and economic growth. Now why is that?
And Muslims are not only victims, they are also perpetrators. The Arabs had a perfectly good chance to enjoy a reasonable detente with Israel in 1948. They blew it and it cost them.
'The truth is that Muslims are responsible for their own problems. They haven't had any more interference in their affairs than many, and less than a lot of others. Yet they refuse to accept that its their political system that is flawed at the core.
