What is the lowest point in the world?

The lowest point on land on earth is at the Dead Sea, on the border of Jordan and Israel. The Dead Sea lies at 1,312 feet (400 meters) below sea level.

Do you know what happened there some 1200-1400 + yrs ago???

I'm not sure exactly what happened there exactly 1200-1400 years ago? Nothing significant could have happened there..It was the after the death of all prophets. So no miracles..waht happened?

BTW, lowest point in the world is the Challenger Deep, in the Marina Trench, which is in the western part of the Pacific Ocean near the Philippine Islands. The deepest portion of the Challenger Deep is about 36,000 feet beneath the ocean's surface. This is approximately 7 miles straight down.

I think the dead sea scrolls were discovered about 50 years ago, not 1200-1400..looooooool. Laughing

Ok LH.. let me tell you what happened.

In the Quran it was mentioned that the Roman Empire was defeated in the lowest point on earth, even before it happened...and thats in the Suura "AL Room" wich says:

1. A. L. M.

2. The Roman Empire has been defeated-

3. In a land close by ,but they, (even) after (this) defeat of theirs, will soon be victorious-

( many scholars say: in the lowest land);

4. Within a few years. With Allah is the Decision, in the past and in the Future: on that Day shall the Believers rejoice-

5. With the help of Allah. He helps whom He will, and He is exalted in might, most merciful

Mybe you confused by the lowest point on erth nd this:

The lowest point in the sea on earth is the Pacific Ocean's Marianas Trench. It's near Guam and is 35,840 feet (10,924 m) deep.

You first asked "What is the lowest point in the world?" Which is totally diff from the Lowest Point on Land. So I answered the former. Laughing

Didn't know that about the Dead Sea though. Interesting.
