Many somalis are under the illusion that this relates only to dahabshill accounts. I don't think people reliase how seriois this issue is.

Horta is it only Dahabshiil accounts that are being closed? That's the only xawala I hear about when it comes to this.

Answering the question even before it's asked.

Most Somalians in the UK aren't in work & are on benefits, why can't Somalia sort out its own problems & stop being dependent on money from the west?

There are people back home who sit on their asses and wait for their monthly "biil" when they have the capability and the opportunity to work for themselves. Why are people importing labourers and workers? What happened to the Somalis who are so hungry why can't they get and keep a job?
Reer US are always looking down on reero Europe as people on benefits - maybe we've turned reer Somalia into a version of us. I am not convinced that people will automatically drop dead if we can't send money back. Necessity is the mother of invention.
The only people I am concerned for are the elderly and the disabled.
