Somaliland is not like any other somali region because it has no interests in the south and has different agenda.

Kenya wants to weaken Somalias interests in the region, because the SFG is gaining momentum and its made a deal with Jubba state which is diminishing Kenya's role in Somalia the moment Madoobe went to Kismayo. Kenya's role in Somalia dropped, in the sense of diplomatic strength in Somalias domestic affairs. the Ethiopians on the other hand balance their relations between all Somalis. The Kenyans are amateurs and put all their basket in Jubba land and in Ahmed madoobe's hands. I dont know what the Kenyans have to offer us we have to wait and see if the price is bigger , but so far the talks and ties and the unofficial undersanding between Somalia and Somaliland seems going the right way.

What will the SFG lose if Kenya's wishes would become true ?

I get what you meant: diminishing somalia interests as a state but what somaliland has to offer kenya in exchange? For example you would always see faroole with madoobe.

somaliland has no interests in the south not just that it has a different national agenda.

In other words it won't hurt the somali govt to be honesty, somaliland is already away, I believe it will more damage the somaliland interests.

Khalid it can work if your looking first to have interests in the south and start backing jubbaland according to the philosophy the enemy of my enemy is my friend by collaborating with kenya in this but the somali politics are not motivated by interests. This is the only way to connect with kenya...all the ex failed politicians including geedi are supporting jubbaland.

Sahal you are correct Somaliland has no business in the south,so in this case they cant serve Kenya's interests. But the SFG and Somaliland are very close in understanding and cooperation. Its not what Somaliland can offer the Kenyans its that the Kenyans, want the special relationship that is about to be build to be halted.I mean the stronger the SFG gets the worse for the Kenyans and their role will diminish and they will lose their economic sphere of influence over the region. So their goal is not Somaliland or reaching out to Somaliland but to downgrade the SFG regional political powers in south and central Somalia. Always view things from Kenya's point of view their interests what do they want to achieve forget about SL and Somalia's interests what do the Kenyans want.

But if you still believe in independence then I'll say that the isaaqs are always naive proud people who think they are much better than they really are.
