Federalism will fail

I know that federalism was chosen a long time ago becuase of external influences and to try and appease puntland and somaliland but I still believe that federalism is destined to fail in Somalia. 95% of people have never heard of federalism in Somalia, they have no idea what it is and how it will be implemented. And to be honest, I believe that federalism wil fail just like socialism failed. Siad Barre in 1969 frustatingly preached about socialism but people did not get it, socialism was also destined to fail. Federal states will undermine the federal goverment and I believe things like clan cleasing will be more common, each federal state will be essentially a country with one main tribe. It will create an identity crisis.. it will make people ask 'Am i a puntlander or a somali?' 'Who is my real preident?' 'What flag shall i raise up and wave?' People living in federal states will not be educated about national figures and broadly the national history of the nation.
Someone needs to save the nation and devise a coup against Hassan Sheikh and his govt.

Don't you get it? there is no Somalia, there are mini states in the making where in the future they are going to have wars, federalism which is based on clans having border wars.

MSB did rather well until the '77 war with Ethiopia ended the goal of Somaliweyn. The rise of the Red Berets after that produced the tribalism that lead to the civil war. It is the tribal nature of the Federal States that will make them successes. The larger the number the better and more stable. I would like to see at least seven. As I understand it, the upper House of the Parliament will be entirely tribal, something like the Guurti in Somaliland.

you have to mention somaliland even though it has nothing to do with your federal nonesence, dont you?

It`s not which political system Somalia opts for that will determine success or failure.
Success will be determined by the caliber of our "politicians".

Somalia has been cursed with poor and incompetent leadership.
Until a new generation of visionary leaders emerge, the country will be bedeviled by civil strife and fragmentation politics.

How can u contrast Federalism and Socialism? They are not in the same category. Under Baare regime, Somalia had Federalism. To have one president for ALL the provinces and sections of Somalia means--u have an automatic federalism ma ha?
