And the guys are couple of shades darker.
It can't only be just diana, I have seen it numerous times in women who are reer badiye.

Most likely the environment.
This phenomenon is not only with the Somalis but Ethiopians too.

Watch this video below taped in Jigjiga

guys, purple or pink?

:lawd:

Notice how everyone in that video has to thank that fat bastard (Iley) and notice how such innocent precious girl been told she's part of "youth federation of Ethiopia"

Who will rescue this girl with me?
Surely eloping such a fine sister in harsh circumstances is justified :P

sh. hyper you heading to jigjiga this summer?

Only one is light skinned, the other is slightly lighter, that said you can't really conclude from this video that galbeed women are more light skinned as opposed to women from bari for instance. Post another video w/ more galbeed women in it.

First, Jijiga has a cool weather year round. According to this link:
http://www.worldweatheronline.com/Jijig ... es/ET.aspx
the temperature doesn't go past 20C. Second, the women stay at home, whereas the men are more exposed to the sun.

OD, I'm talking about nomads not city folks. and this theory isn't just limited to OGs but other somali tribes that settle around that area including your harti in Galbeed.
Also the Iidoor in Hawd. There seems to be higher proportion of females with fair complexion, which i think can only be attributed to the environment, because the OGs in Jubba/NFD have darker skin complexions.

Talo,

What about the Diana effect ? Have you factored that out ?

By the way, I can't watch ESTV anymore ! They are not broadcasting it on SomalWorld  I loved watching the music videos and cultural shows thanks to the Patron of SOmali Culture and Arts, Mudane Madaxweyne Cabdi Cumar from the Kebridahare

And my pick is the one on the right. She is younger, more supple and generally pleasant on the eyes. I don't agree with your statement about marrying or what not. Its not practical nor worthwhile. If you want to get hitched, you need to go to Kebridahare, Dhagaxbur, and further away from Jigjiga to get the hidden diamonds.

Gabdha magaalada jooga use lighting cream, lotion, and soap. The one who says she doesn't lighten herself uses the soap with lightening agents. They also never go out in the sun. You will see the most unnatural skin tones among or women.

Reer baadiye women are almost all dark, they have our most common skin tone. They have more things to worry about then skin color.

PO, I am talking about reer badiye women, not city folks. Plus the diana stuff only reached jigjiga recently, not like other metro somali cities like Djbouti were they swim in it.
Compare an OG somali female from Galbeed and one from Jubba/NFD, we can best compare these groups since they share common ancestor. The ones in Ogadeniya have on average fair skin complexion, this is what I have seen with my own eyes and many people will agree with me.

ESTV is controlled by a mini dictator who uses it force people to praise his name much like North Korea. Everyone they interview on that TV has to thank Cabdi Illey before they give their opinion. IT's Shirk, much like the Suufis chant the name YAA JEYLAANI!
Cabdi Illey is a drunkard alcoholic, a street hustler who rose to the ranks for his ability to master the Ethiopian language which has evaded the native population. He use to bake bread in Dhegaxbuur, selling muufo in the streets.

See my response to PO for Diana effect.

p.s. AW, if you want to get hitched you will have to renew your membership, your walalaha wardheer card has expired

It has to do with the weather.
Jigjiga , Borama and Hargeisa has better weather compared to Southern Somalia.

Light skin or dark skin, you are still black negro in the eyes of arabs, caucasians.
