Ulusow Clan Federalism

Re: Ulusow Clan Federalism
Uluso never fails to put these vultures on the spot. The biggest karbash he gave them is how this 4.5 goes against article 46

In conclusion, it is incomprehensible that some Somalis support clan federalism (secession) for social diversity motivations when Amhara, Tigray-Tigrinya, and Oromo ethnics of Ethiopia accepted Somalis as one homogenous ethnic group. The consensus is that clan federalism perpetuates the fertile conditions for all sorts of criminal activities and political conflicts.
Two things must be clear to Somalis: the future of young generation is grim and clan federalism (secession) is not a solution to conflict management and prevention, national unity, economic development, and regulation of power and resource competition. Somalia needs indigenous well-structured political dialogue for binding resolutions, dispensation of justice and fairness, transparent and accountable system of governance at all levels.

Re: Ulusow Clan Federalism
Im guessing the alternative is creating a decentralised central state but can you expect somalis to be fair and comprimising to all regions; how do we know if this isnt overthrown like the previous civil gov was. I think until somalis become more mature and catch up with the rest of the world then this federalism is the way to go divisive or not.

its their holy grail...
Karma is a bitch though, they played a big part in shooting down eelay bids for federalism in the 60's.
Now the damuljadeed is attempting to control the damage done by shiekh shariifs incompetence allowing the federal constitution to be formed.
Re: Ulusow Clan Federalism
as you know i'm not in favour of federalism but wouldn't be against it neither cos i know that there is huge mistrust between clans ofEstarix wrote:Im guessing the alternative is creating a decentralised central state but can you expect somalis to be fair and comprimising to all regions; how do we know if this isnt overthrown like the previous civil gov was. What we are seeing is what used to be done illegally through the gun has now been legalized. The biggest proof is Jubbaland where 1 sub-clan with the help of foreign mercenary has created his own state without consulting the natives (others on here would like you to believe it) was whether they want to be part.
This clan federalism will lead to more bloodshed unless its is scrapped or steered into the right directing but those that suppose to do that is the parliament who are fast asleep on the wheel
Re: Ulusow Clan Federalism
The reason why raskamboni have been able to do that is because there was no government control, truth is federalism allowed them to legitimize and consolidate control as a faction outside the spheres of SFG, but if there is a government that was in control of these regions this would most likely not have happened.
Re: Ulusow Clan Federalism
Exactly. It has turned into a free for all clan competition. Also in Mudug why is it shared either fall complete under Puntland or go to Galmudug. The constitution clearly says 2 or more >PRE 1991< may join willingly and not redesign the regions where you see fit. What kind of example is this when those who themselves wrote the constitution are outright violating itEstarix wrote:The reason why raskamboni have been able to do that is because there was no government control, truth is federalism allowed them to legitimize and consolidate control as a faction outside the spheres of SFG, but if there is a government that was in control of these regions this would most likely not have happened.
Re: Ulusow Clan Federalism
yh mudug needs to be united or the region needs to be broken up. In addition to that you have galkacyo being controlled by two administrations.
I don't think there's a chance that puntland and galmudug are willing to unite unite either, neither will galmudug and ximan iyo xeeb; this is a problem because if Somalis cannot unite based on administration then how do you think they will trust eachother to share a central state where there's a lot of powers vested in Mogadishu. The problem probably is not where power comes from but whether Somalis can trust and are willing to share; I don't think they are willing to neither do I think they are mature enough to do this.
Bes thing is that both groups will need to compromise.

Time to cut our losses folks.

My solution to the Mudug question would be to split it in two across the middle of galkayo
Re: Ulusow Clan Federalism
The USC should have secured Galkacyo and Cabudwaaq, there would be less problems today lol. Anyway I think the Darood should be paid to leave those cities and relocate.
