The sudden change of attitude towards Al-Shabab by Somalis

I have noticed for the last 4 years (since 2010) the ordinary Somali citizens attitude towards Al-Shabaab have changed. Before many Somalis supported them (out of naivety) but after learning more of this group many of them have shown deep resentment towards them. Today we have old Somali woman selling fruits cursing them like no tomorrow. Just three days ago, people were talking about the rumours of Cali Dheere being killed and many of them were so happy of the news.

I believe 90% of Somalis despise Al-Shabaab. The 5% that support them are brainwashed and the other 5% that support them for clan reasons (hate against Southern Somalia).

I was just reflecting on Al-Shabaab, because really soon their name will be extinct in Somali housholds.

Do you see people in your community that support Al-Shabaab or you see the same pattern I'm seeing here back home?

Nah is not their supporters, rather it is the Al-Shabaab themselves. They have been coming to Mogadishu in the last 6-8 Months (acting like citizens) trying to mess the security so that the citizens blame the government. They are desperate and are trying their best to tell others that they are not dead yet. But believe me soon they will be totally gone.
