Both south sudan and chad have requested to join the arab league and the decision will be made by the league through a process in wich south sudan will have an official presence till it becomes an actual member
Egypt is behind this to prevent south sudan from signing the agreement wich calls to give the nile basin countries their equal share from the nile waters
Egypt is training the south sudanese army, gives them scholarship and the two countries have signed a security cooperation agreement wich was a surprise to ethiopia!
More than this, egypt will join the UN peacekeeping force in south sudan!
Imagin if this was somalia!
Jubba needs such a help to prevent the khartoum backed mashaar and his savage white army from reaching jubba!.
Geopolitically khartoum is on the ethiopian side
John grang had a great relationship with cairo and he use to visit there all the 90s againist khartoum but sudan(in the al turabi era) was threatening egypt to recognize jubba while grang was a unionist, recognizing south sudan as a christian country come from the ruling national islamic front so they can implement the sharia in the north.
Though removing al turabi, nothing has changed between cairo and sudan except having diplomatic relations
Asmara is still waiting though some reports are saying that its closer to mashaar however, this depends on how much its egyptian ally can change the things.
south sudan to join the arab league!

Re: south sudan to join the arab league!
Again Egypt is pushing this for its own interest over Ethiopia. South Sudan please don't do it learn from us Somali's the mistake we made.
Re: south sudan to join the arab league!
this shows your lack of vision and strategy!
There is some thing called interests wich is now south sudan is playing it
South sudan is more important to egypt than somalia since its member of the nile basin countries and needs its vote
Ethiopia and somalia are enemies, the somali govt has no more somaliwan slogan yet ethiopia doesn't even accept her to manage the southren part
In baydhabo, they support both of the two camps bc if one of them try to disobey her and deal with the govt stright they can use the other againist him thus, are keeping him as a resevoir
The govt has now sharif hassan on its side yet its not enough, prez was there inviting the other camp to attend the conference and they said no
Now he is going to the AU summit to force this camp coming to the dialogue table but this will cost the govt!
The only way the govt can get solution for baydhabo is to reconsider the addis agreement now or let them do its interim job
Ethiopia doesn't support both of the two ideas!
means using the regional powers as obstacle againist the president
Wich puts him in a hard situation of not being able to run the country
The west is not removing an elected president but the prez doesn't listen to them so they can protect him and if the bordering states whom they are watchting them put him in such a difficult situation it means no one wants you just evacuate the office
That's the ethiopian policy you little horizoned creature!
It doesn't give a fuck of who is your clan as long your f-king somali badow!
Would some one tell me that amharic word wich they use for somalis and means a "badow"?

Thanks sahal80, i get it.
Re: south sudan to join the arab league!
That is good. You have understand that the ethiopias worst enemy is mogadishuSomaliDefenceCouncil wrote:Thanks sahal80, i get it.
Mogadishu doesn't want a war with ethiopia at all and plying your geopolitical cards is the right policy to do because that is the only thing that makes the somali govt different than the regional powers who don't have such a geopolitical card
This means, as time goes and somali govt is in an ifluential camps, ethiopia will pull out from the somali politics to keep mogadishu on its side.
Other news
Looks like the somali security would have been totally different If the arms embargo was fully lifted, yesterday, italy has donated military equipments to the army and police saying that they would have donated weapons to the SNA if the arms embargo wasn't partial
Qatar will deposit at the sudanese central bank $1bn as part of aid package, this was announced as amir of qatar is visiting sudan
Because of the tentions among the gulf countries, the amir of qatar is making visits to his arabic allies sudan and tunis besides algeria who is abit independent though it is part of the syrian/iraqi camp
Qatar is having a conflict with the saudi arabia/UAE/egypt/bahrain camp and an arab summit was held lately in kuwait to sort out the issues between the arabs
The somali govt is getting closer to the saudi arabia UAE camp these days

sahal80 we are so lucky to have you, Walahi you are a blessing for us. Your intelligence is excellent.

I consider you my leader, you proved yourself time after time. Especially with the Ex-pm Saacid episode, stupidly i was against you at that time.
It just never crossed my mind that Saacid would back stab us.

I wasn't againist pm saacid, I was just familiar with the story
The front is united now
The new pm has a different character, unlike of the local saacid, he has continental character he also has plans and can change the situation.
Saacid has left behind big damage though. He still lives in villa somalia and him and hassan sheekh are still friends.

Ugaas sahal80 I have to admit that you are far better than me in politics, you've continuously proved that. You also have better sources than me, you think international and regional while I still tend to focus on the local.
My kind of village politics is slowly dying as the government continues to emerge the strongest out of all the other local tribal Somali spoilers. Thus Somali politics is becoming much more refined and regional/international as the government continues to build its interest with neighboring countries and those further.
I never thought that Saacid would try and stab us in the back but it happened and he has caused us unnecessary big damage, but inshallah we shall heal from that.
sahal80 I wish you worked for the government as a ad visor, I like a lot of your idea's and vision.
Mashallah, things look better than ever for us, good news that the front is UNITED.
