because of its size of population ethiopia is very large eonomy, but when it comes PPP ethiopia is in the top 5 poorest countries in africa. e.g germany has larger economy than norway but norway is richer than germany?!. because if norway's wealth is divided by its number of population which is very small every person gets good amount of money to spend!

:o  That is why--The WEST is the west, and the rest is the REST! :dj:

I mean-- 15.7 trillion, to just mere "billions' is NOTHING! :dj: Of course it is not fair comparing USA GDP with African nations-- but still-- now we understand why Africa is Africa. There is no productivity yaaaqee! OK lets take Kenya for example--- Somalias neighbor --one would think they are at least in a 100 billion. 45???? Really? That is why Africa is poverty!

Lol ethiopia's gdp, with a whopping 90 million people, is just 48 billion Dollars? North Korea with a population of just over a quarter of ethiopia's is 30 billion. And that is considering it's a country with more economic sanctions than you can shake a stick at and the people eat grass.

Two things of note: The better indicator of a nation's wealth is GDP per capita. Qatar's GDP is $173 billion, but has the highest GDP per capita of any country in the world. And the other thing, Nigeria leapfrogged South Africa after they recalibrated their GDP output.

I only admire the economy of Angola. A country that has been through long civil war has redeemed itself and really outdone itself by beating majority of African countries.

Angola!! :dj:
