No mans land in the Somali regions
I am sure a good chunk of the lands are not claimed by anyone and if its claimed, its only claimed when they see you on it and become aware that you recently claimed it
Clan ownership of lands shouldn't exist. All uninhabited lands should come under govt control and ownership
If you're not on it, get bent. You probably havent even seen that land for 25 years but you lay claim to it
Nonsense.

Re: No mans land in the Somali regions
Siyaad barre did take land in shabeelada hoose from Biimaal and others for danta guud only to be taken over by hungry mafia. possing as the government.
Land should only bet taken for public use like parks and reaccreations other than that it should remain tribal land like the U.S indian lands. Land+clanis is what defines a somali.

I am not talking about stolen farms but tens of miles of open area that not even the nomads use and not have seen since decades
Indian land is limited to reserves and hunting areas. They dont control empty lands

Re: No mans land in the Somali regions
Nomads just walk through these areas to get to another area for water and will only claim the area they walked through if someone else lays claim to it sort of like how a baby claims a toy when another baby plays with it. The average nomad doesn't go beyond 5 miles in his entire life. They all have a home they go back to. They look for water and come back. The fact that you can live on a piece of land for decades without being caught by the clan that supposedly owns it just proves my point
There is no clear border between Somali clans/sub clans/sub sub clans/sub sub sub clans. There are buffer zones that go for tens of miles. Theres thousands of these neutral zones that are no mans land

Re: No mans land in the Somali regions
no mans land does not exist, clans own every inch of the land, but in somalikand for example government manages all urban "danta guud" land. citizens can have as much land as they want in their clan areas for farming, construction etc, but you can not just own it with doing nothing, somali livestock have their own rights to have large zone for grazing. every somali goat has more land ownership than the european man, and every somali camel has its own little kingdom of several KMs. lool
Re: No mans land in the Somali regions
but he does have a point if your not from the area, it depends how nice they are to let you build and develop on their soiltheyuusuf143 wrote:no mans land does not exist, clans own every inch of the land, but in somalikand for example government manages all urban "danta guud" land. citizens can have as much land as they want in their clan areas for farming, construction etc, but you can not just own it with doing nothing, somali livestock have their own rights to have large zone for grazing. every somali goat has more land ownership than the european man, and every somali camel has its own little kingdom of several KMs. lool

Re: No mans land in the Somali regions
You are wrong sxb most lands are taken by clans even divide amongst them selfs into sub areas. What is with you claiming nomads don't travel many miles? I know some family nomads who travel from area to area and basically stay there untill the other side turns green and go back when the green goes and came back again. Am talking about the size of maryland. Neutral zones are like the Berlin wall neither clans go there for grazing except if one side is bad and want to get closer to the other clan's green.

Re: No mans land in the Somali regions
Get out of my thread Julius. This isn't a clan competition. Im not into your petty clan battles. Ive seen how nomads live
This is about the government laying claim to these areas to establish their authority and legitimacy. The govt has no property. It shouldnt have to pay a clan that has come out of no where and that has never seen this strip of land before to build something

refute my claims but don't get emotional its not about clans but the facts.
You cannot claim others land that's it. Everything is already owned and nothing will change that.
It's for the best really. Its protection.
