A Saudi woman was divorced by her husband after he saw a video of his wife driving in a Saudi city while accompanied by her sister’s son.

In an attempt to surprise her husband on their wedding anniversary, the woman sent him via Whatsapp a video of her driving a car in the Eastern Province. Clearly, the wife’s plans backfired because the Saudi man got upset seeing her drive in public. He was enraged to know that his wife decided to drive in public without telling him beforehand, thus deciding to divorce her.

According to Sabq news, the husband said that his wife violated the law of the kingdom and also broke the norms and traditions of the society. Later, he told a judge that he did not beat or rebuke his wife after watching the video clip. Instead, he simply asked her to stay with her family until their divorce proceedings could be completed.

Many social media users cheered the man’s decision while many others criticized him for breaking a family with a rushed decision.

Basra, u amaze me yet again..of all the previous comments, none could think of that simple islamic perspective. .

Whether we approve the man's decision to divorce is one thing however the wife's persistence to drive against her husbands wishes is a whole other issue. ..

I too would have divorced her..

1.surely in a saudi household, the topic must have been raised.
2. In the company of another man
3.outside her own environment

There is a lot to this story than the eye meets..dont run with the words of the media.they write anything that sells..yet some of you baboons behaved like 14 year old blond middle class tart..gullibility level is of the charts

I will never quit to amaze u. Since your Hibo days, I have done my job well.

These commenters above--Original and hydrogen likes-- have gone so far in the lane of blasphemousness, that they have no hope. To be fair-- she was in the car with her Nephew-- that means-- he cannot break her Salat. So it is perfectly allowed, but she broke the premium rules of DO NOT LEAVE YOUR HOME without your husbands permission. We need to adhere to the Quran rules, it is our Constitution. :eat:

Yes I agree with you..there are some faces here that take the deenta slightly too lightly..one thing these character have all in common is their lack of formal education. One can tell by their replies..no observation or creativity. .no direction or a point in there facade...

Whaaaat, bloody who is hibo..lady I checked the chest...plain country side view..aint no hibo here..my first love was called hibo though..no woman has ever surpassed her since..she is my phoenix

On a serious note, blasphemy is a serious business one needs to think about venturing into..basraay you are a bit weird though. .you define the term "controversial" arguably the weirdest forumer...

This is for you :dj:

i dont agree the divorce, and i think is over reaction from the husband. but she needed to tell him ahead if she wishes to drive. they needed to communicate before that.

I think the man was just looking for an excuse to free himself from her and she gave him one. I hope she finds a better one.
