Most terrorist attacks in Kenya aren't by al-Shabab

Post by JamalAddow »

Rather its by disenfranchised locals who have been dispossessed of their own land by the government. Land issues go far and deep in Kenya, one of the main reasons for the violence that occurred during the elections in 2007 dates back to the land issues of the colonial era.

People love to blame foreigners for their problems, thankfully Kenyatta has admitted the Lamu attack was local, deep-seated issues like this can not be brushed under a table.

I do not see Kenya surviving its next election, if things are developing the same way as they are now. For that reason, al-Shabab and Somalis need to step out of the political sphere for awhile, let the Kenyans enrage each other.

Basically their tourism industry has collapsed, khat is only sent to Somalia, investments will be only from America, all they've got left is the Lamu port being built, and for this it only one little spark to destroy its development.
