Something says that might actually go a little ways in empowering and legitimizing ISIS

Assad will say no, you think he'll let the US and all their allies who tried to kill him off and demonize him in the first place help him? lol he is probably laughing about that idea right now. He is killing terrorist and feeding most syrians all by him self

Not only Sryia, but as well as the Shia axis:FAH1223 wrote: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world ... 86666.html
http://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/Powerl ... lah-371935US attacks on the Sunni Islamic State in Iraq and its cooperation and arming of the ruling Shi’ite government there, is the latest signal that the West is moving towards an arrangement with the Shi’ite Iranian axis, which includes Hezbollah, Iraq, and Syria.
The West should be wary of the next (few-several years) mutation of the IS. The best course is to let nature take its course, but predictably, they would help accelerate the IS in acquiring superhuman capabilities. West don't want to destroy ISIS but control them and keep using them. West have build ISIS to what it is today and I'm doubtful they want their "boogieman" gone. Just replace those leaders that dont obey them. Assad still remains independent of West and Israel and that's why he is considered the greater enemy.
Re: The West is poised to support Assad to topple ISIS
Bloody irony. So much for not supporting terrorists or Asad, now they've done both already.

Both iraq and syria are likely to break up into several states' fiefdoms over the coming years even if isis is defeated.

The FSA is as real as the TFG in somalia used to be real,
its dozens of independent and mutually antagonistic groups dependent on outside aid.
the flow gets cut off and they start dropping like flies.
The end game is an Assad victory, he just needs to keep his head out of the water for another couple of years, which he can easily do .

ISIS an 'Incredible' Fighting Force, US Special Ops Sources Say
"These guys aren't just bugging out, they're tactically withdrawing. Very professional, well trained, motivated and equipped. They operate like a state with a military," said one official who tracks ISIS closely. "These aren't the same guys we fought in OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) who would just scatter when you dropped a bomb near them."
"They tried to push out as far as they thought they could and were fully prepared to pull back a little bit when we beat them back with airstrikes around Erbil. And they were fine with that, and ready to hold all of the ground they have now," a second official told ABC News.
Where did ISIS learn such sophisticated military methods, shown clearly after the first shots were fired?
"Probably the Chechens," the one of the U.S. officials said.
