More advisers on the ground in Iraq, more airstrikes, more assistance to "rebels" other than ISIS. Only knew thing is airstrikes in Syria which was expected. But what about Assad??

Also, why does Obama call them ISIL? Not ISIS, nor IS.

What I notice is that this is exactly how the vietnam war started, first it was an increase of military advisors, and then a false flag attack in the gulf of Tonkin, which let to an escalation. I don't think there was ever an official deceleration of war by congress. When Iraqi army continues to be corrupt, and ineffective against ISIS, and no one can dislodge them, I can easily foresee american troops on the ground.

Funny thing is that they are still pushing arming "moderate" rebels in Syria, having Saudi Arabia train them of all people. So the campaign against Assad is not over it's just ISIS forced Obama to make this about them.
