The irony is that their parents were perhaps calling ppl like me "sijui" a few decades ago

She is representing her community now what would somalians say if she spoke english? Probably something like why do we have someone like her who doesnt speak somali representing us? When she speaks somali now all of sudden you want her to stick to english? Somalians cant be pleased.

theyre good considering they were either born there or came as a child. just need a holiday to the homeland, by a month they'll be fluent.

Nothing wrong with them they are just talking like any other Somali politicians who can't say full Somali sentence without mention one or two English words.
Example:
They talk like this...
''Sanadkan budgetka waa kordhay, sanadka two thousand and fifteen waxaan rajay-naynaa inaan kasii badino''
''Wadanka business wanaagsan ayaa laga dareemaya'' etc

This shit hits too close to home for me to find it funny, 85% of xaliimos in my city speak Af-Soomaali the same way.
