govt considers options on the UN envoy

Post by sahal80 »

News r saying that nick kay has tried to cosolidate his position with the AU and IGAD and that they rejected this!

He then called the EU guy who released a more professional statement

Believe it or not the US govt is againist nick kay way of doing the things like weakening the central govt, time for somali govt to take advantage of this!

He's there for only the UK companies

You can remove nick kay through diplomatic channels not publically

You have to contact directly with the UNSC countries.

Is this the kind of cheap coffee shop talk you have peddled as analysis for so long? The Sanbaloolshe moment and the deer in the headlights look makes perfect sense wallahi after you thought there was any doubt the man was out after the decree was announced by the PM.

Saha, you are extremely Somali and that's not a compliment in this case.

1: Source for USA is against Kay "Way of doing things"

2: How is Kay weakning Somali gov by raising concern about the widespread corruption from the president office? No more lalush is good thing. We should get our priority straight and fight corruption. Not only in name but actions.

Sahal......there are no "uk companies"....they're all transnational and are owned by US/Canadian/Aussie/South African/Israeli share holders etc.
When it comes to commercial interests....all the above countries march in lockstep.
The main interest in Somalia is oil/gas.....Anglo-American oil companies work together.

And who talked about the the US oil firms? All I said was nick kay being representing the uk

What's motivating the uks policy in somalia? Its not the oil deals?

Norwegian diplomat was the main rival of nick kay

"The UK has hosted a Somalia conference two years running, including a day dedicated to business deals attended by oil executives, and this year opened an embassy within the secure airport area in Mogadishu. A diplomat from the UK also beat Norway to head up the UN mission to Somalia"
FT

Soma oil&gas mission is about two things:exploring thre oil and bringing the right companies to the govt, thus, others have no chance!

The US govts primary motivation in somalia is security, therefore have a different vision of that of nick kay based on the last decads IGAD reports to the EU countries

Every time there was a problem with IGAD, govt was calling US while nick kay was silent

One of them was postponing jubba parliament until the govt opens the conference in her conditions

This is why prez hassan had this file

Yuulka and nick kay were backing IGAD

US supports more the central govt and plans(in any era) to have an ally regime in somalia and big military base

Turkey and US have the same vision in somalia

Uk is also better than norway when it comes to the govt, notway is more onto the regional enclaves but financially better for the govt than uk, has no strict financial conditions and understands the situation

The only EU country that offers budget support for the govt and talks against the orhodox aid policy of the donors

However, norways company statoil is involved in the border issue with kenya, so you can imagin if nick kay was from there would have totally supported the kenyan interests in the deep south!

There's no contradiction between US and the UK interests, only their policies

British company SOMA OIL&GAS will only expolore them, then the anglo-dutch companies such as shell and total will start producing them by 2015

There r 4 US companies who had the rights in most of areas one of them is conoco these too will arrive

Now window for china except reconstructions and turkey is not happy about this but china will operate more in gobolada.
