KKKKKK
Well, I personally dont think there has been a rise in apostates. The only thing is, people have more freedom now outside somalia to express their real opinions. I believe even back in the days there use to be a lot of Somali non-muslims posing as muslims in order to live peacefully and coexits with the society....nifaaq. Islam was just a cultural thing and use to tolerate it. But now they don't have to

I rather think of empty space and the rest is umbablumba.

Somalia would have been a better place if Somalis were 100 % secular with no religion at all. That's what I think.

Somalia is what is it today because of the Marxist government that was devoid of Islam. It only became conservative during the civil war.
Re: Your opinions on this rise in Somali apostates?
imagine that? but there is no society back then that had no religion. religion was like what science is today. they needed religion to explain diseases and droughts. Somalis 3000 years ago had there own religion which was like many major religions today. but i agree today religion is purely for personal spiritual connections and not for government or understanding our world.0sman wrote:Somalia would have been a better place if Somalis were 100 % secular with no religion at all. so yes i agree somehow. Somalis needed religion back then but no longer do right now and thinking that they need religion is whats destroying them even more.

Yeah, three. Tribalism, Militarism and Dictatorship. Sometimes there are clear cut reasons.
Re: Your opinions on this rise in Somali apostates?
As people become educated, naturally they begin asking a basic question: What is the evidence for Islam? Is it the Qu'ran, and if so what makes it different from the bible and torah which large chunks of it are borrowed? Is it the life of Muhammad, and if so what makes him different then all the other self-declared prophets, like Zoroaster and Joseph Smith? Is it Islamic culture and civilization, and if so then surely the splendor of Islamic civilization can be matched by many, and besides its shine has long given way to a medieval dulness. After much thought along these lines, reasonable minds being to accept that, fundamentally, there is little difference between Islam and the 10,000 other religions practiced by humans. It is a religion based on blind faith and tradition. A religion with many unreasonable elements that retard advancement. It can be argued that in our early stages of civilization religion played a role and filled a void for humanity, but in the 21st century we are in the age of science and information, and while the tales of Muhammad are apart of our heritage they cannot and will not be the guiding force of our lives.
