If/when all somalis end um going back....what language do we speak? so many of us around the globe speaking first languages that aren't somali, and some don't even know somali, how would we communicate?

Re: My question to somalis...
You speak Somali - you will learn, no choice lol. Also, if you're only hanging out with your fam or other qurbajoog youth then yea, you wont normally speak Somali. Most people in the world of business know English as well, some also speak Arabic.
Make it your mission to learn Somali and try to speak with locals whenever you can.
It helps if you know other languages, but I've never seen people using it...unless it's kid's in qurbo restaurants during the summer.

True..i don't know it well but i will try to speak it fluently and learn it before i go back...i can speak it but u can tell its broken half english and half somali lol
Re: My question to somalis...
It's not possible that all Somalis are going back. I think at most only a fraction of the diaspora will end up going back. But they will have to learn the language and it will happen once you immerse yourself with those back home.
Best way to learn Somali is to practice with your parents/elders.
