Buying Properties in Detroit
I found 4 bed room, 2 bath room for just 25,000. I am planning to buy it and lock it up and hope the prices skyrocket in the near future. For those who been to Detroit what do you think?
Re: Buying Properties in Detroit
They are cheap because Detroit is a shit place to live. No jobs and highly ghetto.
Home prices aren't just construction costs.

Re: Buying Properties in Detroit
Have you been to Detroit?
Its a Western Mogadishu.
Street lights that dont turn on after sunset, grass growing on fire hydrants and entire neighborhoods boarded up and abandoned. Fires are extinguished by neighborhood volunteers because the Fire Department doesnt have the funds to respond to fire emergencies.
You have to pay property tax. Its not worth it

It will pick up for sure. An Arbor which is about 40 mins away is just like any other Us city and their houses is comparable of those in any state. The city will get it's act together now that there is incentives to move in.AbdiJohnson wrote:Have you been to Detroit?

The US economy will crash again like it did in 2007-2009. Nothing fundamentally changed, they only put band aids on the problems by printing money. There are far better investments than US real estate.

I am slowly moving to Africa but I can't totally abandon the greatest country in the world. I have to have some investment while I build some in Africa

Most Western countries cap net worth to about 30,000 when you are on welfare or council housing.
