Dear Brothers and sisters
First of all I greet you all with the greeting of Islam Assalamu Alaykum. The airports in Mogadishu and Bossasso are been built by the turkish and the chinese respectively, this means that both the airports will attract alot of aircrafts which in turns means lot of engineers will be needed to maintain the planes. I have got Bachelors degree in Aerospace engineering and I plan to move back home and work over there. I just wanted to know whether the government are hiring somali engineers in various fields.

Kind regards,
Suleiman

good luck. and work hard. don't do what the recent engineer did and not attend work for 8 years whilst still getting his salaries during that time.

I doubt the governments are the ones hiring people directly. You should research the contractors working on those airports and try to see if you can hired. You speak somali so that might be an advantage.

I know a guy who works at Heathrow airport, he cleans the planes after they land and gives them a new polish, he tells people he's an engineer

I think that he is not telling the truth because most Somalis are judgmental. Atleast he is earning in a halaal way...there is no difference between an engineer and a cleaner, all are important to the society. In Japan, employees who clean the trash are called as Health engineers and they get paid alot.

You should contact Favori company in Xamar.

ps. Correction: the only airport under construction is Adan Cade airport. Nothing is going on Bosaso. There are rumours that chinese company may pave the runway there.

Bosaso

The Chinese are contractors "since Somalis cant built shit'' an Italian Aid organization is paying the cost, they will pave a runway that is it.
