I have so many reer moqdisho folks from diaspora encouraging me to open business in Moqadisho, to buy properties and I always point out to the insecurities. The last Central hotel explosion probably forever changed my mind. I would wait probably until i see one full year without assassinations and explosions

Wow the first property in somalia that doesn't look like it's made of gingerbread and icing.

That's ridiculous. For a poor african country coming out of civil war to have 3 room apt. be 300k is mind boggling.

^ Those prices for such apartments in Somalia's current economical state is ridiculous. Of course it's huge profit for the developers and investors, but for a nation that has been in civil war for almost 25 years and where almost all the basic infrastructures are non-existent, only a mad person will pay such money for an apartment in Xamar (which by the way you can buy an apartment with such money in a lot of developed cities in developed nations), well unless you work for the government & are making a killing.

It seems I am not the only one who was gobsmacked when I read about the asking prices for those apartments on the net a while ago. Well, good luck to the sellers and the buyers.

I'm iffy about buying any property in Somalia at the moment, let alone pay $300k. Unless you already own land or other property, keep your money in your pocket. Its costing us a fortune just to renovate my parents home in Madina now and I wish we never did.
