LOL. Nomadic ppl have generally a sense of pride according to studies. The harsh environment has certainly played a big part.

I wrote on these boards awhile back a story I was told;

LIquid, actually, our women have used the somali pride to their advantage. Overall. The suuro is there still. Marrying a somali woman has never been this expensive since the days of the 100 camels. Today, even the copy of the quran as meher is not accepted. Our women will milk the wallet of the guy. Very smart.

The situation is the same for somali women marrying non-somalis; I know a bright young somali woman who is married to the son of a top-top Swedish politician. She is the leader of the house and leads him like a dog.

There are exceptions though; the salafis; here it seems our women opt for the worst option. The lure of jannah seems to make wonders for non-somali men.
