Meditation tips?

Post by SultanOrder »

I need to start meditating, but I'm not sure how to start. Is there any regiments that you know, one that you can increase? Is it better to try to focus on clearing your mind, or to focus on one thought and try to hold it? What are the best times?

Please, no one say salaad. Everytime I pray, I think what I'm going to do next, what I should have done, etc. Plus, all the movements don't make it easier.

The easiest is breathing exercise.

Lie down flat on your back. Not on a mattress. Dont use a pillow or anything to support your head. One hand by your side the other on your stomach....and just breath in and out. As you breath you'll fell with your hand as it goes up and down on your belly.

thats all there is to it. Concentrate on your breathing. If your mind wonders off then back to your breathing.

go try that for 20 to 30 minute and tell us how it goes.

Next lesson....how to channel that energy (breathing) into any part on your body...lol

ps..or how about a silent contemplation with cutub in your ear and a tusbax on your fingers.?

I meditate early in the morning. In a dark room for 15-20 minutes. I am not an expert but a friend of mine showed me the ropes.

No phone
No light
Just sit still on the ground and close your eyes. Take couple of deep breaths. And let your worries fly away.

Good luck..

Once you do all the body relaxing and breathing, my Yoga instructor said to picture a colour, any colour that you like, and picture it entering and filling your body from your toes all the way inch by inch along your lower legs to your knees....you get the picture

Lakin I spent most of that exercise deciding on a colour so only advice is have that debate before you get started. Warm yellow and orange glows are always good I suppose but I was trying to be different. I actually decided on picturing a rainbow :snoop:

Like I said, pick the colour first

Take hot showers in the absolute dark, make sure u open ur eyes and visualize the water pouring down. Change the scenery in ur mind to some more tropical. I usually have my phone playing nature chants or Native American flutes in the background.

And the Ohm sound

As silly as it will sound initially I think it's because the sound fills your head that leaves it otherwise blank
