Ethiopian has awarded scholarships to 15 young Landers for them to receive training in Addis Ababa on air traffic safety, control and overall services. The aviation minister sent them from Egal today. the course normally goes for two years but the SL authority asked the Ethiopian government to give the SL students intensive course and reduce it to about a year. They will mostly learn about air traffic control and lower airspace (below FL 245).
They will soon join their fellow Hornian brothers in the Academy of aviations run by the Ethiopian Airlines corporate and the Ethiopian Government.
I welcome all kinds of educations from all providers and for all pursuers.
The SL minister of aviation is slowly doing his job. Bit by bit here is taking small baby steps. Egal airport is now so much better and its extension of the runway is almost complete (from 2.4km to 3.9km), Berbera has been rehabilitated though still needs much work, Burao is under development and Borama will soon receive much attention.
I personally do not like the Gov focuses on Isaac dominated towns so the Borama airport is must. We didn't fight Barre just to practice his one area development scheme. Money must go outside Hargeisa.

Ethiopia should be more worried about the plight of ethiopian migrants in the middle-east and north Africa.

Distance from Hargeisa to Borama = 117.2 KM
Distance from Berbera International Airport to Burao = 135.9 KM (Not to mention the danger of driving on Sheekh mountain one side road).
Distance from Burao to Erigavo = 392.9 KM
Distance from Burao to Las Anod = 253 KM
So tell me who deserve to have an airport, Borama city or Burao? Economic & Political wise NOT reer hebel wise?
Afweyn regime has been fought to bring justice not to satisfy someone on the expenses of others. Dib isku noqon and ask yourself which region has the largest diaspora community?
P.S. Burao airport is not under development. The government has not took part of settling the airport land dispute nor it contributed to the construction of Burao airport. King Waslawi is from there ask him.

I agree that Boorame deserves its own airport. But I beleive it's better to have an airport in Burco first. If the government decide to develop burco airport, it would not benefit just burco, but it would benefit the entire East of Somaliland. people from las anood and erigavo would also benefit. With the burco-erigavo road under construction, and the burco-las anood road due to be refurbished. The entire eastern region would benefit a lot. This would also boost burco's economy and creat jobs.

We should use Ethiopia to our advantage. The Walaweyns are being trained by Turks and financed by Ayrabs.
Truth is, we have no friends and a lot of enemies. Ethiopia is an enemy as well but Ethiopia is not the one claiming Somaliland, al when opportunity arises we should educate and develop in various fields like in this case with the air traffic control to counter the AMISOM prostitute Zoomalia.

Waxa iminak socda qorshe cajiib ah kaas oo ah in Burco laga dhiso airport-ka ugu weyn Somaliland oo dhan, iyadoo muhiimada ugu weyn la siinayo gobolada bariga iyo badhtamaha Somaliland oo in badan ga'doon ku jiray. Wasiirka wasaarada duulista ayaa maalin shaaca ka qaadi doona arrintan. la soco saxaafada maalin dhaw ayaa lasoo ban dhigayaa.
