Girls at an Islamic school in Australia have been banned from running at sporting events because the principal believes it may cause them to lose their virginity, former teachers claim.

It follows revelations last month that the principal, Omar Hallak, told students that Islamic State was a plot by Western countries.

In a letter sent to the education ministers this week, a former teacher said female students were being discriminated against at the school.

"The principal holds beliefs that if females run excessively, they may 'lose their virginity'," the letter said.

"The principal believes that there is scientific evidence to indicate that if girls injure themselves, such as break their leg while playing soccer, it could render them infertile."

Australian media is getting really pathetic. This isn't even lazy journalism anymore, just b.s in print. I know people that both graduated from that Islamic school and a current teacher there. It's simply not true.

This is again a baseless accusation that no one will bother to verify. They will be corrected, an insignificant apology will appear in some small print on a section of their website that garners no traffic and off to the next Islamophobic story. Ground hog day anyone?

Sounds like the Islamic school I attended as a child.

Girls were not given P.E.

They had "sisters class". I still dont know what the hell they did in "sisters class". Im assuming board games and stuff.
