I know a lot of people don't know about this
so am just gonna drop it here as a general information.
Someone told me, it is not allowed to brush your teeth with tooth paste in Ramadan.
The reason is because after doing so the remains of the paste is mixed with the saliva.
That's why you can feel it's "taste" inside your mouth for a long time after brushing.
The problem comes when someone swallow his saliva, most people do that for many reasons unconsciously to
prevent the mouth from getting dry and having this unpleasant breath. But when doing so you break your fast
because some of the paste reaches the stomach!
I Googled it and come back with the same result,
Currently am brushing without toothpaste in day
and with it an hour before Suxur.
Whats the alternative other than miswaak?

Re: Brushing with toothpaste in Ramadan
Naturally your breath stinks while fasting so now you want to punish the poor people around you by not brushing with toothpaste?

Re: Brushing with toothpaste in Ramadan
I agree breath stinks when your fasting, and brushing during suxur and going to bed then going to work without brushing with toothpaste, no way will I do this.Idman702 wrote:Naturally your breath stinks while fasting so now you want to punish the poor people around you by not brushing with toothpaste?
Also if you apply the same logic with toothpaste mixing with saliva and going down to your stomach the same can be applied to water during wudu, when you wash your mouth, you certainly get a taste am sure.
Re: Brushing with toothpaste in Ramadan
People are so anal about these trivial things. Just brush your damn teeth, it's not like that tiny amount that enters your throat will do much.
Re: Brushing with toothpaste in Ramadan
That was my reaction in the beginning, but apparently it's true according to everyone I asked so far and google.

@PUNTMAN,
That is why it's not advised to rinse a lot of water during Wudu and to be extra careful during ramadan.
However, water doesn't mix with Saliva to that extent, I asked my teacher in uni this exact question and she said it's not the taste but mostly the different premature. Inside the mouth it warmer so when you luglug during wudu this mild water comes inside the mouth and cool it a little bit. It should not be confused with actual water. Although am not proud of it, I spit couple times after luglug just in case.
Anyway, am out 5 minutes to afur here, I presume our shikh Hyper is in the middle of his afur so see you later.
Edit : Itrah, cadi iska dhiq, this tiny amount can brake your fast!
