The government of somalia need to take their friendship card seriously.
The world is not only the arab world P.S what did arab world ever do for somalia other than money and training the countries military? Take for example Saudi arabia and Egypt. Both have being providing money and military aid to the country, but nothing much changed. More military and aid means the end of a country if you think straight. They be bootylicking monarchs with nothing else otherthan just money.
They government should strong their ties with the western world. Deep relationship with the western world will industrialise the country, better marketing and it would take less then 30yrs for the country to be on top. Take south korea for example it was shithole, poor effected by civil war 50yrs ago and now god knows what they can do and how wealthy they're. So in my opinion the more Somalia hardens it's it's ties woth the west the better it gets for everyone.
Another important step is to forget the hate for Ethiopia and milk the growing economy of theirs. There is maahmah keep ur friends close but keep ur enemy closer(or something like that). The more bussinnes countries do together the more they get closer and back eachother(just a perfect example is SL and how Ethiopia is ready to back them anytime which shows it can work for Somalia 2) 3laya kuli 7al it's time to move forward and forget the arab world and their close minded thing and open ur arms for other rich and bussiness friendly bussiness countries and continents.

Re: Somalia needs to step up their friendship game
The Arab world still has a a growing economy, they might be corrupt but at least they have a somewhat functioning Government. Let's not forget Dubai is the 4th (almost 3rd) most visited city in the world. South Korea grew in 50 years with the help of steel, just like how Arabs grew with the help of oil. Somalia won't be growing soon cause all we got is Bananas, and the Habash only have coffee; Ethiopia won't be a rich country soon cause they got over 90 mill people and only chinese factories and coffee....Macasaro wrote:The government of somalia need to take their friendship card seriously.

Even if you look up the top 10 largest economies in Africa you will see almost all of them are because either:
1- Oil (Nigeria, Egypt, Sudan, South Africa, Algeria, Libya, and many more) Seriously even Sudan had more civil wars than Somalia yet their GDP is number 7? And their population is average too. They got inflation but still their GDP is growing, their economic emergency plan will end in 2015 bringing the economy back on track and after that, so I imagine it'll improve even more cause that's how Emergency plans work.
2- They're the 2nd most populated so they have to be on the top 10 (Ethiopia)

Shouldn't Somalia focus on hmmm... idk maybe actually have a proper government system and focus on human rights and safety (so the best hotel in the country doesn't get bombed again) instead of being buddy buddy with countries that see Somalia as a joke? Arabs are nice for even dealing with Somalia imo, Oman, UAE, Bahrain, and Qatar are very business friendly, dunno why you think all of Arabia is Saudia.....
Re: Somalia needs to step up their friendship game
Ummm and who told you Somalia doesn't have any ties with western countries or its African neighbors?
Somalia belongs to all the important institutions, AU, Arab League, IMF, UN, WB and many more.
I dunno wherr you got that Somalia has no friends.
