I've kept close eye on developments across Somalia, SL, PL etc you name it. Developments in these regions have been really sky-rocketed since last year or two. I recently assisted in one of those developments. Alhamdulillah it went well.

Obviously being patriotic person, I like to think we're doing better than the neighbouring nations but this is not always true.

Are those developments propping up because of us or is it something that just happens when a country comes out of a war? Does the same thing happen to other countries coming out of a war?

Angola developed a lot when the war stopped, but mostly because of crude oil exports.

I don't believe we are doing better than Kenyans, Ethios or Djiboutians. Those countries are atleast a decade ahead of us when it comes to developments.

But that doesn't mean we can't be like em. We are just finding our footing after 2 decades of war and are slowly gaining our self confidence.

Urban Ethiopia is ahead of Somalia.

But Rural Ethiopia is much worse than Rural Somalia. Average nomad in Somalia is richer than the average farmer in Ethiopia.

I didn't know that. Whenever i think of Ethiopia, i think of Addis Ababa and other major cities that are building light rail and is attracting foreign investments.

Where there is a peace there is development ! I believe Somalis are way ahead than both xabashis and kenyatis the only difference is they have well established institutions while Somalis are still in institution building process. the xabashis receive billions of Aid and loans from the world.

Somali's are developing at a below average rate, but I agree the projects have been popping up more, but it's understandable - exponential growth.

Capitalism needs a strong and stable judicial system.
Big money hates political uncertainty. It is directly correlated to lower economic growth.
