Do any of you girls have any facial piercings?

I've wanted to get my noise pierced since like forever, so I mentioned this to Hooyo the other day.

She looked at me like this

and said "Ma adigoo inta leeg ba rabta inta ciyaal suuqnimo i bilowdid?"

I'd be homeless if I got my lip pierced, turfed on the streets.

Not all facial piercings look nice, some look tatty.

I've actualy seen a Somali girl with a headscarf on with just below her bottom lip pierced (more towards the side) and althought it looked banging to me, other Muslims were giving her the side eye miskiinadu lol.

I got a ex to get her nose pierced once lol. Girls get ur nose pierced. Lips n that is bs tho.

I never considered facial piercings but the other day, my Muslim work friend asked if I ever thought of getting one. She seems to think a nose piercing would suit me (I disagree though). I always thought hijab and piercings were an odd mix too, so probably won't get it.

I already know my hooyo would have a similar reaction to yours Inaayah.

P.S did you base your screen name on that UK Muslim fashion store?

Nose piercing is for the jareers according to my hooyo :dead:

That's why I can never consider to have a piercing anywhere on my face.
There was a day I got a second piercings on both my earlobes and hooyo was like

one is enough why two? I wanted to pierce like 2 more on each ear but I can't now. Hooyadey baa I nacsiisay piercing oo dhan

Interesting way of looking at it.. I agree it's quite strange what we do to beautify ourselves. Even more strange is how we decide which part of our body is deemed more "appropriate" to make a hole and place ornaments.
