has any of you got a little hook up from their parent as they became adult and were ready to handle their world? be it money for education, money to get married, money to start a family , some savings, or a property/business.

Alxd my mom gave me $4000 when I finished high school which i used to come to the US. My father didn't give me a penny since I was 8 years old. That is all i got from my parent to start life.

Yes, more or less. But that's common in Northern Europe (sans UK). Nothing special in my case.

Nah, i moved out when i became 18 started uni and working. Pay my part of the biil etc. No adult should depend on their parents.
