Guled Kassim, a former candidate for the Maryland's Montgomery County State Delegate seat, is now a Minister in the Somali Federal Government. FAH1223 campaigned for Guled and spent hours trying to get the brother elected. Unfortunately, Guled was unsuccessful. Now, I find out he is a Minister in the Somali government which goes to show there is no place like your motherland.

FAH, you too are more likely to become a politician in your ancestral land than in your home state. Stop being too critical of SOmalia and identifying more with MD than Somalia. Look at Guled, a former Marine, Democrat who couldn't even get elected to join the school committee.

During his political race in MD:

Now as Minister, he is finally a politician:

I can see it now, FAH 2030

Games,

I know. He is more fearless than other US Diaspora government officials like Abdiweli Gaas who were afraid to visit or be seen praising the Islamic Republic of Iran even when the Republic provided a lot of support for Somalia

Yea the guy deserves it too, i was just reading his bio at that link and he has done alot. And he was a USMC with an honorable discharge...he should have won the school board.

There was a guy here who was running for the Fairfax School board couple of months ago, i don't know what became of him.

AbdiWeli Gas is easily intimidated.

Iran is the biggest illegal fisher in Somali waters. But I suppose that's not seen as bad thing when they occasionally chuck a few breadcrumbs to your tribal buddies, eh?

If you think there is anything positive to say about Somalia, you need your head checked.

I'm just calling like it is.
