The airport is nearly done, alhamdulia. At the moment its 2.5KM however the next stage is making it 3.4 KM and a new terminal. This in itself is great acheievement for all of somalia not just puntland. It shows with determination and peace we can achieve anything. For comparison, the longest paved runway in the world is at the Chinese Qamdo Bamda Airport and is about 3.4 miles long, did you ever imagine in your lifetime somalia will have the longest runway in africa.

Its a great project, cant wait to see when its completed. Somalia will soon be back on track except this time the whole country will improve insha allah!

Did not know that. I doubt the runway is modern like this one though as you can see it's vastness.

Bosaso airport, (actually there seems to be two unpaved ones) but the biggest one is around 1,7 km and unpaved, width is circa 18 m.

HGX is 48.21 m wide and 3.7 km long, centered in the southern part of Hargeisas vast plains, you would feel humbled, so yeah some vastness here also.

But I'll give you this, Bosaso airport area looks very nice now on google earth.

Puntland in general is nice, my favorite place is BandarBeyla

but buglayn apparently isnt part of zoomalia - if it was it wouldnt have fought sacads in gaalkacyo because of a functioning central govt being in hand
