I find it rather amusing that some Somalis consider themselves black...
Why on Earth would one associate their genetics with apes such as these?

Also easy on the racist rubbish, you should know better than that. But I do agree that as Somalis we have a language and culture, by putting ourselves under the black label we stand to basically undermine that. In Africa no 1 is known as black, we all have tribes and languages with which we identify, and that is how it should be!

Thanks! Lots of beautiful people of all stripes and colors on my island. We actually have the distinction of providing the world with the first black miss universe...not that i put much credence in that sort of thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZH5p3HchcA

I've said here before that i was minding my own business with other like minded caribbean people on a caribbean forum when someone who said he was somali came into the forum and started tossing insults left and right and accusing us of claiming somalis etc. meanwhile i don't think any of us ever met a somali except for one or two members who live in canada. He went on and on boasting about caribbean people being descendants of slaves and that his people were never slaves and in fact he was proud that his people participated in the slave trade on the side of the slavers. Most of us just sort of blew him off. Then he invited us to this site by posting links of a few threads to prove to us how racist his people were....in a proud, chest-thumping sort of way. That was my intro to this forum and to somalis in general.

I recognize that these sites and their racist threads are not co-signed by many somalis but its been a real eye opener and very educational nonetheless.

Obviously, I still come back here from time to time for the spectacle and will post once in a while.
