The explosive device built into a laptop computer that detonated last week on a Somali passenger jet was “sophisticated” and got past X-ray machines at the Mogadishu airport.

AQAP bomb-maker Ibrahim al Asiri has been developing a new generation of explosive devices concealed in electronics, according to Western intelligence officials, and there are indications the group has shared this technology with al Qaeda affiliates in Syria.

The laptop was handed to the terrorist past the security checks by "an officer" who got paid by them(lack of morals..he worked for NISA as well!)

I think Hargeisa airport is the next target if the government does not place several army units in the outskirts of the airport. Shabaab got surface to air missiles. They can take down planes if there is no tight security outside the Fence. the reason alshabaab never managed to shoot down planes in Mogadishu, is because of Mogadishu airport runway strategic location, diyaaraduhu xaga bada ayey u duulaan, markay soo degayaana xaga bada ayey kasooo galaan.
