2k$,might be too much for local residents, but for the diaspora returnees might be a good service especially elders who need periodic checkups.

This is legit company but there is several issues including infrastructure, immigration, etc,
How will they obtain visa to enter places such as Dubai if the case is an emergency, which requires short period window?
South Africa is too far. So this tells me they don't necessarily deal with urgent cases but more like people that require deep health assessment.
Another question is who will go with the patient? Does the ticket cover a relative? You know our elders have language barrier and they always need someone around.
I hope they thought about those things.
It is easy to operate this within Somaliland, Ethiopia, Djibouti and South Sudan.
What makes them different than flying with EA?
Many Somalis already go to Addis for medical 'tourism'. I believe this inspired them. Right now Ethiopia has both good healthcare facilities and surplus in the number of graduating pilots/aviation mechanics/experts.
Ethiopian Airlines has a leading academy and hundreds are graduating each year.

EA aviation academy in Addis

Congratulations to the Mulat family. I wish them the best and they came up with an exciting cause/business niche. When you add up the graduates, planes available and the health sector, it makes sense to operate flying doctor business.

OD,
Those are some things people should know. My own assumption is they stabilise the patient onboard then transfer them to a local hospital while they apply for visa?
I know Mulat family is wealthy family in Addis with hotels and other investments.
Maybe they will use their own hotel to give discounts to the patients.
