Actually, Silanyo is a clean figure, he worked in Siad Barre's government as the head of ministry
of planing (a civil entity) for 13 years before he defect to UK & joined the SNM a year after it's establishment in 82
after his failed attempt to fix Barre's regime .

Unlike all the propaganda spewed against him by Wanlwayne and unfortunately some Isaaq, he took no part in the military
operations of Barre regime and had generally a good reputation among both southern and northern population, hence becoming the longest serving chairman of SNM from 1984-1990, that's more than 60% of the whole SNM war against the faqash junta.
