I think its actually a lucky escape for somalia, and i hope we never join the eac, the reason i say this is because this community of nations are not only opening trade with each other but also borders, a lot of ppl here might think that its the somalis that will be running from somalia to those countries but its rather gonna be the other way round in the long run, somalia is on a road the recovery it might take a bit of time but once regions up north and down south see stability, somalia is a vast nation with all the recources you can imagine, not to mention the 3250km of prestine beaches that will attract tourism, and a small population which can be easily sustained, so in the long run i think somalis are better off on their own.

Googled East African countries, look at the map of East Africa. Does it look like East Africa to you?



Now, look at West Africa map and the countries, draw a horizontal line and it will point Ethiopia, Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea and South Sudan.

Do you see Angola, Namibia or Zambia creating West African community? No.

Those countries listed as East African community aren't even located in East Africa to begin with.
