The potential of Kismayo Port is Immense,it can easily meet the Demands of the 35+oromo and Somalia population that live close by.

I'm happy that Kismayo can make a living. There is enough fish in the sea for the Somali family but you can't compare Berbera port to Kismayo.

When we say something surpasses another we talk about data, sources, numbers, figures, etc.

Can you share them with us?

As for the photos I see one old crane, five old trucks probably from 1986 and one lift, also very old.

Berbera has six berths with total length 650m. They are 9-12 meters deep.

It has 7,000 mt capacity at the port for storage. Over dozen cranes, almost 20 tractor heads, several reach stackers, forklifts and so forth.

Kismayo has 4 berths with total of 630m length.
They are not deep enough for container ships.

Kismayo will continue to handle small dhows like Bosaasso and future Maydh but container war will remain between Djibouti, Mogadishu and Berbera.

Another chance to educate our bragging but clueless relatives in the south.

Ps, Oromia state has no say in port issues. That's Federal job and as you know the Federal gov is northern Ethiopian club and their concealed policy is always keep things in the north where the rewards can spillover into their proximity or regions. The more north, the better.

kismayo surpassing berbera what a joke , try harder next time do some research first before you just say anything, enough with the monkey business give it a rest.

What a pathetic, hate ridden creature. Kismaayo's port will never surpass Berbera's one as long as the status quo stays the same.

It has to surpass Mogadishu first because berbera is the second biggest somali port after djbouti
