My parents want me to go in the summer. Not happening. My advice is as follows: don't give money to beggers cos if you give money to one, other beggers will see and come. Blend in with the locals or you might attract unwanted attention and comments. Also, keep valuables hidden. Lots of tuugs around waliba apparently some of them are heartless and carry knives. If you're going with females, tell them to be careful. I think rape is quite common. Roads are not well lit so avoid walking at night as someone can creep up on you. You're better off using a car at night.

Don't mess with the Oromo kids that hang outside Cadani and Cali Mataan masjid, they'll bully you.

And if you're going to the masjid, wear dacas or cheap shoes that you don't mind being robbed.

If you go past Hargeisa don't go to daambi area, especially at night.
