How do people even afford to live in that place? Small 2-bedroom apartment would cost you $2000.00 per month when the jobs there pay the same as Columbus, Ohio.

For the kid who is arrested, you guys are just judging his name. This kid was most likely born in America, and since the Somali community in San Jose is very small and scattered throughout the city, he just grew up just like any other American kid. He is more of a black and liberal than being a Somali. Keep in mind majority of the Somalis in San Jose are people who came there long time ago, and not the flight-13 crew like myself. It is much better to raise your kid in a conservative environment than a liberal town, that way they would at least feel they are different and would remind themselves about their roots.
