The Somali national consultative forum have postponed making a decision on this issue until 13th December 2016. These are basically the Dhulbahante and Warsangeli seats. There is no mention of Cayn or Eastern Togdheer which is inhabited by the Dhulbahante. The other unfortunate bit of this document is the designation of " gobollada Sool iyo Sanaag ee Soomaaliland", basically giving legitimacy to Shantyland ' s claim on these regions. The Puntland vice president Eng. Abdihakim Abdullaahi Amey , a Dhulbahante, represented the Harti interests, as did prime minister Omar Sharmarke.The president of Jubbaland was absent. Does this mean that Puntland has given up its claims on Sool, Sanaag and Eastern Togdheer.

Who then represents the interests of the Dhulbahante and Warsangeli in this so called national forum, if the Daarood members kept silent in the face of this blatant misrepresentation.

Reminds me of the story of when the reknowned Ogaadeen poet Raage Ugaas was adversely mentioned in a song by the iidoor singer Xirsi Doqon. Range asked if there were any Daarood people present when this song was sung and he was told that there some Siwaakhroon who were present. He asked whether they defended him and was told, on the contrary, they laughed. That's when he composed his famous gabay:

Siwaakhroon waa niman haddey socoto Xaafuun

It seems history has a way of repeating itself.
