They are all in cash, rather than food. This causes enormous inflation. The government needs to take control of drought donations from diaspora to use this to import food. Otherwise the businessmen are making the real money through massive inflation of prices and no additional food is imported into the country.

Somaliland government needs to implement price controls on staple foods for the duration of the drought. Somaliland government needs to build warehouses for staple food to store emergency food reserves for drought periods
