Somalia's marine resources is an area that has been neglected, and it is a one that can rescue the Somalis from their dependence on foreign aid. While we're begging the world and our people are starving, the rest of the world steals $2 billion to $7 billion USD a year from the Somali coast. We roughly lost at least $100 billion USD in the last 27 years when millions of Somalis died of hunger, disease, and war.

Appointing an economist from the World Bank to the Ministry of Fisheries and Marines resources is a step in the right direction.
