Somaliland compared to South Korea on bbc
Jokes aside, what do you make of this chap's point. They where discussing cutting foreign aid budget. The usual left-wing libtards argued against it but this well-spoken posh conservative put a spanner in the works.
No audio as it's a screen recording.

His lip movement and the closed caption don't match.

Well, the MP did say Somaliland, the captioning is done by the BBC and not OP.DaacasBiyo wrote: Fri Jul 07, 2017 2:15 pm

Not necessary, you can download a video clip and add captioning, it's just like adding a translation. I am not questioning his motives, I am just saying screen capturing software captures the audio too, if you go to youtube and type cnn live, you'll see a lot of people capturing live cnn feed and streaming it for people. He says s/o screen recorded it, that means it was live and s/o recorded it and once a video clip is recorded you can pretty much edit it. If he meant s/o screen captured it when it was live, then it should have also captured the sound because a lot of people do it for cnn live, it's not magic.Ben Dover wrote: Fri Jul 07, 2017 2:27 pmWell, the MP did say Somaliland, the captioning is done by the BBC and not OP.DaacasBiyo wrote: Fri Jul 07, 2017 2:15 pm

Here is the Video
He can be as posh as he wants but he is full of shit. South Korea benefited from American and Japanese Aid about 60 billion was given to South Korea after the war. America also sent thousands of civil servants, doctors, teachers and engineers to South Korea. This idea that South Korea did it with just trade and not aid is misleading.

Yup, he's lying, they also went to war for it and are still defending it which allows South Korea to invest less in its own defense, heck they invest less than Saudi Arabia even though they have twice its GDP and face a much higher threat.

There's a lot to be learned from South Korea.
Good example to strive to be like if not better.
Gotto have high expectations.

Re: Somaliland compared to South Korea on bbc
its a bit of an exaggeration, South Korea had a very low GDP per capita but it was slightly higher than at $70 somali Democratic Republic was $65. i havent seen a figure for somaliland.
but whats more embarrassing is Ghana which had a higher literacy rate than South Korea in 1957 but also a higher percentage in university.
