Puntland Security and Military Force

Hello everybody,

i did some reseach over Somalia and Puntland and found in the "security" Sector only minor informations. So i found this forum and i hope to get some better Information. Everything helps!

The Puntland Military is the same as the "Puntland Dervish Force" isnt it? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puntland_Dervish_Force

Can anybody here tell me the rough numbers of this "army" ? Wikipedia says 10.000 soldiers, this would be quite a force for a little "state" like that. The armor consists of some T54 tanks and BTR-60 APCs...

Whats about the navy? An armed coastguard, as far as i remember? I read somewhere about 500 Men and some armed boats / fishcutters?

How is this military compared to Somaliland and the Somali-Main-Country-Force?

Puntland Dervish force is one sector of Puntland Military

PL main army is divided as the following .

1- Puntland Dervish

2- PMPF (Puntland marine force )

3 PIA ( Puntland intelligent agency )

4-Puntland coast guard

and others I forget them. Those are the main Puntland military force .

For the number no government will tell you the truth of its number , but you can imagine the size of the state and enemy's you would understand why the number are huge .

There is two part of the Puntland navy .

1- PMPF the second large division in PL army . you can find them in the youtube .

2- Puntland coast guard . is normal coast guard .

How is this military compared to Somaliland and the Somali-Main-Country-Force?

Comparing to SL they have less to PL cause they only fighting with us .

Somalia main country force is not clear cause the government request every state to sent 3000 soldier to xamar .
