A simple question about qabiil
Assalamu alaikum.
Hope you all are good.
Before we get into the topic, I just want from all of you to kindly answer my question without being racist.. PLEASE!!!
Since I was born, my parents did talk with me about Qabiils and the conflict among them. However, when became an college student and interacted with Somalis, I started hearig stories and questions about Qabiil.
I can't believe that my people come from same religion and same color and speak same language.. killing each other because of this disgusting thing called Qabiil. And not only that.. in Business world, also Somalis are discriminated.. an employer might refuse to hire another Somali because he is from a Qabiil that has conflict with the employee's.
Another thing is two lovers from different clans can't married which I'm now suffering from. I met a very good man who helped me a lot and never ever did something bad to me. I'm loving him secretly and I can tell that he loves me back but none of us confess to another. Now the problem is we are from different clans.. he is from Darood and I recently knew that I'm from Tumal..
My question: do you think there is a hope that this relationship might end up into marriage.
THANK YOU.
AGAIN... Please I don't want to read any kind of racism in comments.. please we all are grown-up.. please act so.
Hope you all are good.

Re: A simple question about qabiil
Qabiil should never be used to discriminate against other somali's but the Darood have weaponized Qabiil under Afweyne and that's how we ended up in the Qabiil hell hole we are in today. This doesn't mean we have to repeat the mistakes of Afweyne and Darood.
Qabiil should be held in high esteem as a part of history that belongs to you and your ancestors. It's a sense of pride , a sense of belonging , qabiil was initially just a large family group. What's bad about that?
Have qabiils always fought each other? Yeah, it's life it happens everywhere when a group of people live in a strategic location or control certain goods and a less fortunate group living next to them or near them comes along they might try to take it and that's qabiil on qabiil violence. That's normal and happens in history throughout time.
What Afweyne and Daroods introduced is a very very bad version of discrimination along qabiil lines. Darood got drunk with power. Formed alliances and targeted the 2 other major qabiils they deemed as a threat to their monopoly on power in Zoomalia: Isaaq and Hawiye. Of course they didn't flat out discriminate against Hawiye at first , they tricked Hawiye and later turned on them. Afweyne hated Isaaq from the beginning and knew they could flat out discriminate against Isaaq because even at that time Majority of Isaaq lived far away . There was no Isaaq presence in Xamar like the Hawiye / Darood presence. Those two had to be on somewhat good terms in the beginning.
Before sub clans of the same clan might not be united , and might wage war against one another. What Afweyne did was unit Darood subclans by bribing them with money and resources that belonged to all of Somalia and their goal was to discriminate and steal more power and resources from all other clans

Mentioning your Qabiil name is not something bad but Qabyalada is not good.Zoomalia4Kucks wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2017 5:58 pm Qabiil should never be used to discriminate against other somali's but the Darood have weaponized Qabiil under Afweyne and that's how we ended up in the Qabiil hell hole we are in today. No, it was your childish question that sounded like that weird inter species love. If you worry about qabil you're not mature and shouldn't marry.

Re: A simple question about qabiil
Somalis can't let go of qabil because it's their history. Somehow we gotta move forward with it.
Re: A simple question about qabiil
Sister nin Mahan kaas hadii uu Ku dafii wayao. He is not a man if he can't make it happen despite the qabiil we are all equal under Allah. Qabiil is only used for protection in the old age but shouldn't be used in today's world specially when it comes to marriage.
Final,hawyie ,isaaq doesn't matter wallahi.
Ppl have found new level respect for your ppl who are the most skillful Somalis when we came to West.
Its time to eradicate this disease. Small tribes should be protected and respected I don't mind Darood and hawyie and isaaq to wipe each other .
But small clans should be left alone

Worrying about something that may affect on my relationships in the future is not immature but proactive.DaacasBiyo wrote: Mon Oct 30, 2017 12:44 amNo, it was your childish question that sounded like that weird inter species love. If you worry about qabil you're not mature and shouldn't marry.
